Das Recht eine Waffe zur Selbstverteidigung zu besitzen und zu benutzen ist in den USA durch Lobbyorganisationen wie der National Rifle Association mit rund 5 Mio. Mitgliedern eine weit verbreitete sowie die Politik stark beeinflussende Meinung. ARMS zeigt uns auf, wie Frauen in einem patriarchalen System durch die Benutzung einer Waffe zu selbstbewussten Individuen generiert werden sollen und lässt erahnen, wie das Waffengeschäft zu einem Fetisch der amerikanischen Gesellschaft heraufbeschworen wird. The right to own and use a gun for self-defense is a widespread opinion in the U.S. through lobby organizations such as the National Rifle Association, which has about 5 million members, and strongly influences politics. ARMS shows us how women in a patriarchal system are supposed to be generated into self-confident individuals through the use of a gun and gives us an idea of how the gun business is conjured up into a fetish of American society.
